Do you HAVE to scratch your mole with a needle first for ACV mole removal treatment to work?

I just started ACV mole removal treatment, and a lot of people have been saying that you have to "score" your mole before you use the Apple Cider Vinegar remedy. Some people say you don't have to, so I was wondering if it was really necessary and whether it would work if I didn't create small abrasions. I would really rather not have to cut into my skin, whether it was a teensy needle or butcher knife. Will it still work if I don't scratch my mole before I use ACV?
