Have there been many cases of children under age 18 flying as unaccompanied minors being kidnapped at airports?

I am 17 and planning to fly Lufthansa (4 star), yet my parents (Indian) are deathly afraid of letting me fly by myself (or with a flight attendant) to Europe to visit my boyfriend's family, and refuses to. My friend was 12 when her dad, a police officer, let her fly while being accompanied by a flight attendant. My dad has seen the movie Taken, and now thinks I'm most likely going to be kidnapped, at an airport. Is the probability of this occurring so low that this fear is incredibly irrational? I'm going to college in the UK in a year, so this worry is pointless seeing as I'll be on my own soon anyway, right? Not to be conceited, but I am extremely mature and aware, as well.
