How often should you apply Hydrogen Peroxide to a wound?
I realize I am going against the grain here, but grandma was wrong about wound care. Dry is not better. New skin cells are moist and if they dry out they die. It takes longer to heal if the cells are always dying. Peroxide is also toxic to new cells. I know it bubbles up and all,but the bacteria present on the skin near a wound are not all causing infection. Most wounds can be handled by ordinary soap and water followed by vaseline and a bandage. Continue the care until the bandage comes away with no drainage on it and the wound is pink and dry with no curst or scab. The white or yellow stuff that builds up will slough off on it's own and is not dangerous.
