How do I find out if a used car is legit and not a scam?

I recently found a 2003 Honda Accord in good shape and with low miles, but is this too good to be true? It is in California and I live in Wisconsin. I have emailed the seller whose name is Diane, she says she is a flight attendant who recently divorced her husband and is looking to sell the car because she doesn't use it much. She also says its located at DAS shippers company and is registered on her name and the title is clear. She can't deal in person and has already arranged the shipping and title transfer anywhere in the US.
