Starting career of a flight attendant?

I would like to become a flight attendant when im older. But i dont know if i should start off on the ground maybe as a PSA (passenger service agent) or something like that, then after about 2 years i can apply to be a flight attendant and if i dont get it i will still have the psa job, and i can keep on applying until im accepted. Do you think this is a good idea?
